EGYPT — Do you remember "Where's Waldo" books? The first one came out in the late 1980s and was an absolute hit with me and my friends. We'd spend hours looking through the detailed illustrations and admiring all the zany action author Martin Handford included.
Finding Waldo was usually easy enough, but finding other hidden objects wasn't so easy. Books, bones, scrolls, and other things buried within the Waldo books haunted me for years, and I still haven't found some of them.
But the hardest of all was the page that was covered with hundreds of individual portraits, and you were supposed to find the one that was repeated twice. There are support groups out there to help all the people who have struggled with this page over the years.
I actually thought about old Waldo when I stumbled upon this underwater video. Check it out and see how long it takes you to spot the octopus.
The poster explains the people behind the camera were scuba diving in Egypt and thought they noticed something lurking on the coral below. Was it a stone fish? Maybe Waldo himself? Nope. Turns out it was a beautiful and stealthy octopus.
I don't recall any "Where's Waldo" books that included a hidden octopus, but it would've been an excellent thing for Handford to sneak in somewhere.
