SALT LAKE CITY — The Kilby Block Party soared to new heights this year, bringing in more than 25,000 attendees each day from all over the world during the three-day extravaganza.
Festival organizers say its next edition aims to be "bigger and better than ever," with 75 artists performing across four days at the Utah State Fairpark, May 15-18.
And some big names and nostalgic favorites are coming to town.
English rockers New Order, indie group Beach House, alternative rock heroes Weezer and French electronic music duo Justice will headline the four nights respectively; event host S&S Presents unveiled the lineup on Tuesday.
New Order, which celebrated the 40th anniversary of its smash hit "Blue Monday" last year, will anchor the festival's first Thursday lineup with Devo, Future Islands and Yo La Tengo in support. Gates will open at 4 p.m. that day.
Gates open at 11:30 a.m. every other day of the weekend. Others coming to town include IDKHOW, Perfume Genius, TV On the Radio and Wallows. St. Vincent, fresh off four new Grammy nominations tied to her latest album "All Born Screaming," is set to perform on Saturday before Weezer, which will perform its pivotal "Blue Album" in its entirety.
The album turned 30 earlier this year, catapulting the band into fame with hits like "Buddy Holly," "My Name is Jonas," "Say It Ain't So" and "Undone (The Sweater Song)."
S&S Presents also announced Tuesday it plans to have more space available for attendees at the Fairpark next spring. This will open up more water stations and places for attendees to "relax or dance." The Days of '47 Arena is one of the park's venues it plans to use for the first time in 2025, turning it into one of the event's smaller stages.
A full list of Kilby Block Party 6 artists can be found on the festival's website, which is also where fans can buy tickets. Four-day passes will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Some additional artists are expected to be announced before the May event.
Organizers now offer travel packages for attendees from out of state, as well, including hotel and transportation options. It shows how far the event has come since it started in 2019 as a one-day party celebrating the popular Kilby Court music venue's 20th anniversary.
