HAMILTON FORT, Iron County — A portion of northbound I-15 is closed in southern Utah just south of Cedar City after a three-vehicle crash Friday.

Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Zach Randall said traffic was slowing due to construction in the area and a pickup truck failed to slow in time, leading to a collision.

"One vehicle hit the cable barrier and flipped. The driver of that vehicle was transported by helicopter. Still waiting for an update on condition," Randall said.

Troopers estimate the portion of the freeway would reopen between 10:30 and 11 a.m.
