FARMINGTON — A Kaysville woman was charged Thursday in 2nd District Court with the alleged rape and sexual abuse of a 13-year-old boy in 2020.
Racquel Couch, 38, is facing four counts of rape of a child and one count of sodomy on a child, both first-degree felonies, a charge for both sexual abuse of a child and obstructing justice, second-degree felonies.
From January to March 2020, charges say Couch sexually abused the boy, whom she met through her own child, by driving him to various out-of-sight locations in her car.
Couch "would drive to his home and pick him up late at night. On three occasions, she drove to a church parking lot. On one occasion, she drove to Ponds Park," charging documents say.
"At the end of each of the sexual assaults, Couch told (the victim) to not tell anyone," according to a police booking affidavit.
The woman also sent nude photos of herself to the boy, the charges allege, and the father of the victim told police he read inappropriate texts, including Couch telling the boy she was just getting out of the shower, or that "she was going to bed and she wanted to know if he was still awake."
Couch denied the sexual assaults when speaking to police, according to the affidavit, but admitted to communicating with the boy over Snapchat, saying "they sent each other pictures of their faces."
The woman is not yet in police custody, but a proposed warrant for her arrest was filed Thursday.
