CENTERVILLE — A motorcyclist was hospitalized after being thrown from his bike Friday night in Centerville.

A man was riding southbound on Legacy Highway near Parrish Lane about 9:20 p.m. The biker went off the roadway to the left and was thrown from the bike, Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Luis Silva said.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but officials did not specify his injuries.

Police said witnesses saw him traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.

Legacy Highway remains closed late Friday while officials investigate the crash.
