SARATOGA SPRINGS — A 75-year-old woman was hit and killed by a car while crossing a street in Saratoga Springs.

About 8:30 a.m. Monday, Lola Klein Ferkovich was crossing at the intersection of Cozy Lane and Floribunda Drive when she was hit by a car turning south, the Utah County Sheriff's Office said.

Ferkovich was critically injured and was flown to a hospital but died shortly after arriving there.

The driver is a 44-year-old woman who is an employee for the city, so police asked the county sheriff's office to investigate the crash.

Correction: A previous version misspelled Lola Klein Ferkovich's middle name as Klien.
