1 hospitalized after Kaysville house catches fire

KAYSVILLE — A house adjacent to Morgan Elementary School caught fire Tuesday, sending one person to the hospital.

Crews were dispatched about 12:15 p.m. to a house near 800 E. Oxford Drive in Kaysville. Layton, Farmington and Hill Air Force Base fire departments also responded, according to a Kaysville Fire Department social media post. Temperatures at the time exceeded 90 degrees, with a heat advisory from the National Weather Service in effect.

One person was transported to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. The person was reported to be stable. The cause of the fire is under investigation and there was no word yet on a damage estimate.
