SALT LAKE CITY — Check back for the latest scores from all the Week 4 high school football games across the state.
KSL.com Sports' Game of the Week: Bountiful at Viewmont
Why did we choose this game?
It's a Davis County showdown between two rival schools less than two miles apart from each other. What a way to start Region 5 play between two 3-0 teams. The winner takes a big step toward a region title, while the other comes away with more to prove.
Bountiful enters the game at No. 6 in the latest KSL.com Top 20+1 rankings and is the favorite to come out of the region with the title, but they have to do it on the road (kinda) against a much-improved Viewmont team that entered the top 20 for the first time this week at No. 19.
The Redhawks won their previous contest in a last-second field goal against Olympus to keep the undefeated season alive, and managed a 5-point win in Week 2 against a Farmington team still trying to find some footing this season. Does that spell trouble for the region favorites?
Viewmont, on the other hand, has rolled through their schedule in blowout fashion — admittedly to lesser competition. The Vikings are coming off a 49-7 win at home over Taylorsville, and are looking for their first 4-0 start to the season since 2006, in which Viewmont started 6-0.
This crosstown rivalry game should make for an entertaining night.
