ST. OLAF, Minnesota — One little girl recently charmed social media when her mom styled her hair like the beloved "Golden Girls" character Rose Nylund and filmed her doing different things that a "golden girl" would do, like carrying hard candy in her purse and wearing a sequined, shoulder-padded jacket.
Betty White would have been delighted.
Twelve-month-old Evelyn Mae's mom and grandma, who are hairstylists, gave her the makeover inspired by the 1980s sitcom and shared a video of her accompanied by the "Golden Girls" theme song, according to the video shared by TikTok on YouTube.
I don't know how they thought to give an infant a bouffant hairstyle à la our grandmothers in the '80s, but the result is pretty adorable.
If I had a daughter, this is totally something I would do. But I have a boy, and alas, his hair isn't nearly as fun to style.
The first time I introduced my newborn son to extended family, my mom decided to try to style his hair with some mousse before I could stop her — the cotton candy-textured result looked disturbingly like my grandma Lu, proving this look is cute on some babies but not others.
