HEBER CITY — A man was found dead at Jordanelle Reservoir Monday morning, according to the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office.
Officials received a call about a possible emergency on the water at about 7:45 a.m., according to a press release from the sheriff's office. First responders from several agencies arrived and found a man who was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Preliminary information indicates the individual was wearing a life jacket, may have been paddleboarding and appeared to be recreating alone," deputies said. "At this time, there is no information to suggest foul play, and the incident appears to be accidental."
Deputies have not yet identified the man, pending the notification of his family.
Officials warned people to take precautions when recreating, such as using proper safety equipment, monitoring weather and water conditions, and "avoid recreating alone when possible."
