HERRIMAN — The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death at Rio Tinto Kennecott.
A sheriff's spokesman said Thursday, "We are investigating an industrial fatality at Kennecott. The victim was an adult male. This is still under investigation. We do not have any other details at this time."
Kennecott also issued a brief statement Thursday, stating, "Rio Tinto is investigating an incident at the Bingham Canyon Mine. Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our people and the public. We will provide an update as soon as possible."
No other information was immediately available.
