SALT LAKE CITY — The latest weekly fuel report from AAA shows both national and state increases in gas prices.

On Monday, the national average sat at $3.47, up from Friday's average of $3.32.

No doubt a major contributor to the rising prices is the war with Iran, but President Donald Trump said in a recent interview, "They'll drop very rapidly when this is over," as reported by USA Today.

Utah has also seen gas prices increases. Last week they rose 20 cents per gallon and averaged $2.73. Now the price has risen even more to an average of $3.18 per gallon, according to AAA.

The report also included fuel prices around the state.

  • Logan: $3.16
  • Ogden: $3.15
  • Salt Lake City: $3.18
  • Provo-Orem: $3.17
  • St. George: $3.19

California ($5.20), Washington ($4.63) and Hawaii ($4.52) have the highest state gas price averages, according to AAA.
