SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake City woman is recovering after a terrifying hit-and-run crash that was caught on camera.
The victim, who asked only to be identified by her first name, Rachel, for safety reasons, is pleading for the public's help in finding the driver responsible.

The incident happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday on the 300 West bi-directional bikeway near Hope Avenue.
"I was just out running errands, on my way to Target," Rachel said. "I was just proceeding through the intersection like normal."
Rachel was riding her bike, heading northbound, when surveillance footage captured a white pickup truck slamming into her head-on as she entered the crosswalk, knocking her to the ground and dragging her bike several feet.
"I just got hit. It was pretty surreal," she said. "I was lying in the road for a minute, but there were a lot of people who came and helped ... so I'm super grateful for that."
Surveillance footage from a nearby ATM captured a white truck speeding away. The victim suffered multiple cuts and bruises, and her beloved bike was destroyed in the crash.
"That's when I started crying — when I saw my bike. I love my bike," she said.
Rachel also recovered a truck part she thinks belonged to the bumper from the scene, stamped with a Ford logo.

As they process the incident, Rachel and her husband said the ordeal has shaken their confidence in living car-free.
"It's really scary. We love living in an area where you can walk and bike around, but knowing you can just get hit by a car at any moment — it can totally change your life or end your life," she said.
The couple is asking anyone who recognizes the white pickup, which resembles a newer model Ford F-150, or has information about the driver, to contact Salt Lake City Police.
