EAST CARBON, Carbon County — One person is dead in a collision that involved three vehicles on U.S. 6 in Carbon County on Sunday, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety.
A Tesla was westbound on U.S. 6 at about 2 p.m., when the driver "lost control of the vehicle, causing it to spin into the eastbound lanes," according to the Utah Department of Public Safety.
Troopers said a heavy rainstorm in the area made the roads slick.
The Tesla collided with an eastbound pop-up camper trailer being towed by a Ram 1500, the department said. As the Tesla was sideways on the road, it was then hit on its driver's side by an eastbound GMC Yukon.
The Tesla driver was killed in the collision, troopers said. The driver of the Yukon received minor injuries and the Ram's driver was injured.
The right lane of U.S. 6 was expected to be closed until 9:30 p.m. Sunday, troopers said.
