SALT LAKE CITY — One person is dead and another was sent to the hospital following a crash in the Poplar Grove neighborhood of Salt Lake Saturday night.
The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. at 900 West and 200 South, police said.
Salt Lake police's Pioneer Patrol Division, Salt Lake City Fire and Gold Cross responded "and found a crash involving three vehicles," police said.
One person was dead on the scene, while a juvenile was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Salt Lake Police Sgt. Miles Southworth said. Two other people were treated on the scene.
One of the drivers involved is being investigated "for possible impairment," police said.
The crash will require an "extended investigation," and drivers in the area could expect significant delays for "the next several hours," police said.
There is no timetable for when the road will reopen, and no additional information is available at this time, police added.
The crash team is looking for any evidence that witnesses or bystanders have from either cellphone cameras or security systems. Those persons can contact Salt Lake police at the non-emergency dispatch number, 801-799-3000, Southworth said.
