SOUTH JORDAN — South Jordan police are looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run that was caught on camera Friday morning.

Video shows a silver truck plowed into a parked white truck about 6:30 a.m. near 10830 S. Topview Road.

Police say the driver of the silver truck then pulled back and drove away from the scene.

It appears a neighbor drove up shortly after the crash and saw the silver truck leaving. They called 911 with a description and followed the truck, but lost it on northbound Bangerter Highway.

In a Facebook post from the South Jordan Police Department, the truck is described as a silver Dodge Ram 2500.

Scott Anderson told KSL his Chevy truck is the one that got hit.

"My wife came out and was like, your truck is gone," he said.

She told him she thought it got hit. "You're not making any sense. If it was hit, it would still be here," he said.

Anderson said he went outside and discovered his truck 30 feet down the street from where it had been parked.

"It was just crazy to think that someone could nail your car and drive off," he said.

Anderson said damage to his truck is estimated at $8,000.

Scott Anderson says his truck has about $8,000 worth of damage after it was involved in a hit-and-run Monday while parked in South Jordan.

Police believe there is a possibility that the driver of the silver Dodge was under the influence.

If you've seen the Dodge Ram that likely has extensive damage to the front, or have any information on the case, contact officer Gorman at 801-840-4000.
