WEST VALLEY CITY — A second man has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in West Valley on New Year's Eve.

Adrin Almaguer, 20, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Thursday for investigation of 10 counts of aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm. His brother, Anthony Junior Almaguer, 27, was arrested on Dec. 31 on suspicion of the same charges in addition to DUI and being a restricted person in possession of a weapon.

On Dec. 31, about 11:10 p.m., six adults and four children were having a New Year's Eve party in a home near 3800 South and 6200 West when a black Tesla drove by multiple times and fired multiple shots, according to a police booking affidavit. Police found five bullet holes in the front of the home and three in vehicles parked in front. No one inside the residence was injured.

Not long after the shooting, police responded to a crash involving a Tesla. Officers noticed shell casings in the vehicle and took Anthony Almaguer into custody.

On Monday, a search warrant was obtained for the seized Tesla, during which detectives reviewed the on-board video.

"Over the course of a few minutes, the video shows the Tesla makes four passes in front of the … residence. The first pass shows the driver (Anthony) put a gun out of the window and fire multiple rounds into the residence. The video then shows it leave south, turn around and the second volley of shots is shown out of the passenger side of the Tesla. The Tesla makes two more passes. Each pass, one round (is) fired from the perspective side closest to the … residence," the affidavit states.

The video showed two men in the vehicle. Police were able to confirm the second man was Adrin Almaguer, the affidavit states. He was located by police on Thursday and arrested during a traffic stop.

The victims told police that Anthony Almaguer "had been harassing the family for some time."
