ST. GEORGE — A 34-year-old Nevada man accused of human trafficking for sexual exploitation labor is being held without bail following an arrest last week.

The investigation was opened following a late night traffic stop on Brigham Road in St. George on Oct. 16, during which two individuals were arrested. Elton Castine, of Reno, Nevada, was booked into jail that same night for suspicion of drug possession.

Castine was convicted of similar crimes in Reno, Nevada, in June of 2020, after he was arrested during a joint sting operation by the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit, the Nevada Department of Corrections and the FBI.

The defendant's criminal history was, in part, what prompted the case to be turned over to federal investigators following Castine's arrest last week.
