PROVO — Republican state Sen. Mike Kennedy and Democrat Glenn Wright will face off on the debate stage Thursday evening as each makes their case for representing Utah's 3rd Congressional District.

With Rep. John Curtis leaving his seat to run for the U.S. Senate, several Republican candidates initially filed to replace him. Kennedy emerged from a five-man primary field to match up with Wright — who ran against Curtis two years ago — in the general election.

Thursday's debate will be held in Curtis' backyard at Brigham Young University and will be moderated by Leah Murray, the Brady Presidential Distinguished Professor in the Department of Political Science and Philosophy at Weber State University.

The debate, which begins at 6 p.m., will be streamed live below.
