THE BACK YARD — Last year, we shared a video of a dog lounging in a hammock while bandits strolled right past it and stole chickens out of the yard. I titled the story "Have You Seen This? World's worst watchdog," because I couldn't imagine a more egregious violation of the sacred laws of watchdogs.

While the dog in that video was definitely negligent, it's nice to know great watchdogs still exist. Like the fearless pooch in this video.

Wow. When the snake first makes an appearance in the video, it doesn't look all that intimidating. But then it just keeps coming! I mean, how long is that thing? Ten feet? Twenty feet?

The watchdog, though outsized, approaches the monster snake and demands it leave the yard. As the culprit slithers away, I love how the dog unleashes a series of nips to the snake's tail just to say, "And stay out!"

Anyhow, if you live in a snake-infested area, consider getting a dog like this. Otherwise, you might come home and get attacked by a snake that's longer than your car.
