The 51-year-old Turkish Olympian showed up to this week's 10 m air pistol mixed team competition without any of the fancy gear other shooters wore and took home silver alongside teammate Sevval Ilayda Tarhan, becoming a timeless internet icon on the way.

"Did Turkey send a hitman to the Olympics?" wondered one X user.
A pair of glasses and a hand in one pocket was all Dikec needed to make his mark and go home with some silverware around his neck.
"I did not need special equipment," Dikec said in a viral quote after the competition. "I'm a natural shooter."
Creative memes ranged from hand-drawn comics depicting Dikec's call-up to the Olympics and pop culture crossovers with Dikec lined up with John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson in the famous Pulp Fiction shooting scene.
