ON CAMERA — Scottie Scheffler is having a breakout season on the PGA Tour, after the World No. 1 golfer broke his own single-season tour earnings record with his $4 million, first-place payout at the Memorial Tournament — his fifth tour victory of the year.
But he wasn't the only one who had a good week.
Tony Finau added another top-10 finish to his career, shooting 1-under-par 287 to collect a $579,000 paycheck from Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio. But his previous week may have been even better, he said during a mid-round interview.
Speaking with the ESPN+ broadcast while playing a featured round Saturday with former Utah youth golf mate Rory McIlroy, Finau recounted an emotional Memorial Day weekend, where more than two dozen of his family members gathered to visit his mother Ravena's grave in Lehi and remember her life.
"Me and my siblings, my dad, all of our kids, we had over 30 of us, just gathered around my mom's graveyard," the Rose Park native recounted. "We hung out at the cemetery, played football, had a little picnic. It was just an overall great time to reminiscence about the wonderful mom we had in our lives, and all the siblings to just catch up. It was a great time."
A special week for the Finau family ❤️

Then, a week later, Finau celebrated another milestone.
"On Saturday, I was able to baptize my son," he said. "It was great vibes all around. It was a great week to be home."
A special week, indeed, for Finau, who will tee off Thursday at the U.S. Open at Pinehurst.
