CHICAGO — What will the robot uprising look like? Perhaps they'll use a slow-burn strategy, gradually infiltrating our lives over decades. As we welcome them into our homes and become increasingly reliant on their support, it would then be easy for them to finally take over.

Or maybe it will happen in one big, audacious moment. One minute, humans are running the show. Next thing you know, robots have risen up around the world to take charge.

Whatever the plan, we sometimes catch glimpses of something strange going on. For example, your Roomba might keep venturing into rooms that aren't on its cleaning path. Is it just confused, or is it mapping out your house and passing that information on to some robot army?

The scene in this video looks sort of like battle planning to me.

Yeah, these robots are probably getting ready to deliver food and beverages to the good citizens of Chicago. But is that all they're doing? It looks as though they're also going through drills and preparing for something.

Maybe I've got this all wrong. Robots don't want to take over. They just want to find new ways to make our lives easier. So the robots in this video might simply be discussing ideas for keeping their food items fresher and for always getting their deliveries done promptly.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
