CEDAR CITY — Rounding out 2A semifinal competition, the Enterprise Wolves beat the APA West Valley Eagles 59-46 in the late-night game.

Both teams stayed in the paint for a large portion of the game with a few jumpers sprinkled in, and though the Eagles never led, it remained evenly matched.

Dax Hunt gathered a double-double for the Wolves with 12 points and 11 rebounds, just barely passing his average of 11 points per game. The Eagles had their own double-double in the form of Komy Ocwor, who was dialed in for 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Enterprise jumped ahead early thanks to Treyson Whitman's 7 first-quarter points. The Wolves played a great quarter, putting up 14 points while only giving up 7.

The second quarter looked like it might follow a similar path after Enterprise opened on an 8-0 run. They held the Eagles scoreless for three minutes until they broke the seal with a free throw. From there, APA kept steady; Enterprise still had the advantage, but the half ended with a 7-0 run from the Eagles that put the score at 30-22 Enterprise.

The Wolves took their time getting on the board coming out of the break. It took nearly two minutes for Whitman to hit a layup, and then the Eagles answered right back. They traded free throws and 3-pointers with the Eagles on the Wolves' tails the entire time.

It became apparent early in the fourth quarter that the Wolves would come out on top. They started the period on a 9-0 run that seemed to crush the Eagles' spirits. Even with one of their key players in Whitman fouling out, Enterprise had no trouble holding on.

Enterprise carried its double-digit lead for the entirety of the quarter until the final score read 59-46.

The Wolves are now heading to the championship game as the No. 3 seed, where they will take on the North Summit Braves Saturday at 7 p.m. for the state title.
