LOGAN — A Utah man is facing multiple child sexual abuse charges after police say they found over 400 child pornography images on his work computer.
Boyd C. Wiser, 58, was charged Wednesday in 1st District Court with 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony. On Thursday, he was charged in a separate case with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.
Wiser made his initial court appearance on Friday and was ordered held on $100,000 bail in one case, but ordered held without bail in the other, court records show.
In October 2019, a manager at Freeform Polymers in Logan was transferring files from Wiser's computer onto an external hard drive when he found several child pornography images, according to a police booking affidavit.
The manager told police Wiser was the only person with access to the computer files. He turned the computer over to police, who took it to the Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory for analysis.
The forensics lab wrote in its report that it found over 400 images related to child pornography or child erotica, the affidavit states.
When Boyd was questioned on Wednesday, "he stated that he did have files on his work computer," according to the arrest report.
Boyd was also charged Friday in two additional cases with multiple charges of drug and firearms possession.
