Sept 30 — Hormel Foods ​on Wednesday said it ‌will buy family-owned chicken ⁠company ​Brakebush Brothers ⁠in ‌a deal ‌valued at $1.06 billion, as ⁠the ⁠Skippy peanut butter maker looks to expand its presence ‌in ​value-added chicken.

Consumers have increasingly sought protein-rich meal options amid growing demand for chicken ​as ‌the focus ‌on ⁠health and wellness grows.
