SUMMIT, Iron County — The evacuation of 50 people due to a human-caused fire was underway Sunday night. 

The Christy Lane Fire started at 5:46 p.m. southwest of Summit in Iron County, according to Utah Fire Info. 

Approximately 50 people were evacuated from the Red Canyon subdivision, said Cassie Meredith, Iron County public information officer. 

The evacuation included people in fifth-wheel trailers and a dozen full-time residents, Meredith said. Evacuations weren't forced. 

According to Utah Fire Info, the fire was estimated to be 15 acres, was human-caused and was under investigation. 

Utah Fire Info directed the public to avoid the area so firefighters can continue their efforts.
