1 dead after a crash on Mountain View Corridor and 4100 South in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY — A person is dead after a collision in West Valley City on Saturday afternoon.

An SUV traveling eastbound on 4100 South was reported to have run a red light and collided with a commercial vehicle going northbound on Mountain View Corridor, West Valley police said.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital; the SUV driver was pronounced dead, while the commercial vehicle driver is in "good condition," police said.

Police say the northbound Mountain View Corridor is closed from 5400 South to 4100 South.

Eastbound and westbound 4100 South is also closed in the area.

No other details were immediately available.
