SALT LAKE CITY — One person died early Wednesday after being hit by a car in Salt Lake City.

The crash occurred on Redwood Road near 1500 South in the Glendale neighborhood. Salt Lake police confirmed the accident was fatal, but further details were not immediately available.

Road closures are in place while police respond to the area.

Another pedestrian was almost struck in a nearby intersection just an hour after the fatal collision, said Salt Lake police detective Greg Lovell.
