WEST VALLEY CITY — Swire Coca-Cola USA has started producing commemorative bottles in Utah to celebrate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.

State and community leaders, including Utah Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson, toured the company's West Valley City production facility Tuesday to watch the first America 250 bottles come off the manufacturing line.

The limited-edition Coca-Cola bottles are part of a nationwide effort recognizing the country's 250th anniversary in 2026.

Company officials said the bottles are expected to begin appearing on store shelves across the region in April.

"It was wonderful to see the production — the very first day of production of this new America 250 label for Coca-Cola," Henderson said. "It's just incredible. This is an important year for our state and our nation."

Following the tour, leaders also participated in a ceremonial toast using the first bottles produced during the event.

Swire Coca-Cola officials said the company also plans to participate in community service projects in Utah as part of the America 250 celebration.

The company, which has operated in Utah since 1978, distributes Coca-Cola products across 13 Western states.

The America 250 initiative marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
