REDMOND, Sevier County — A fire that briefly threatened structures Saturday afternoon in Sevier County is now 50% contained.

The North Redmond Fire, estimated at 100 acres, fanned by gusty winds and deemed to be human-caused, is now moving into lighter fuels, and its activity has decreased. As such, structures are no longer threatened in the area, according to a post on X by Utah Fire Info.

Firefighters will continue to monitor the fire and carry out mop-up efforts until it is fully contained, a follow-up post later said.

The fire was originally reported at 3:07 p.m. Saturday.
