- Aiden Dramore Larsen, 20, faces a new charge for allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
- Larsen is accused of kidnapping the girl in October, leading to a police chase near Richfield.
PAYSON — A man already facing charges accusing him of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl and leading police on a chase last fall is now facing an additional charge of assaulting the girl.
Aiden Dramore Larsen, 20, of Moroni, Sanpete County, was charged Wednesday in 4th District Court with rape of a child, a first-degree felony.
On Oct. 13, a 12-year-old girl went missing from her home. Investigators determined Larsen had taken a truck belonging to the girl's grandfather, picked up the girl in Sanpete County, drove her to Payson and then to Sevier County.
Police tracked Larsen to the Richfield area, where an officer spotted the missing truck and attempted to pull it over.
"Aiden fled from the sergeant, and a pursuit was initiated. UHP assumed control over the pursuit, which ended in a field near Monroe after multiple spike-strip deployments," according to court documents.
The chase went up Clear Creek Canyon, where police were able to spike the fleeing vehicle's front tires, a police booking affidavit states.
Larsen was originally charged in Sevier County's 6th District Court with rape of a child, a first-degree felony, and in Sanpete County with child kidnapping, a first-degree felony, and theft by receiving a motor vehicle, a second-degree felony.
The Sanpete charges were amended in December to include two counts of rape of a child, a first-degree felony, and 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of enticing a minor, second-degree felonies.
All the charges filed were for crimes allegedly committed on Oct. 14, according to court documents. Larsen's new charge alleges that he also sexually assaulted the victim in Payson on Oct. 13.
A preliminary hearing on his charges in Sanpete County was scheduled to start on Wednesday.
