ST. GEORGE — BYU football wide receiver Parker Trent Kingston will have an opportunity to post bail pending adjudication of the rape charge filed against him.
Kingston, 21, made his initial appearance in St. George's 5th District Court on Friday. He was charged this week with rape, a first-degree felony, and accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman at her residence on Feb. 23, 2025.
During his court hearing on Friday, a copy of the charging documents was provided to Kingston and he was advised of the possible penalties if convicted.
Fifth District Judge John J. Walton also set the conditions for Kingston's release from custody pending trial, which include posting $10,000 cash-only bail; wearing a GPS ankle monitor for at least 60 days; and checking in with pre-trial services.
Kingston, who is from Layton but was arrested in Provo on Tuesday, must also "stay out of Washington County except for court appearances," not have any contact with the alleged victim, her family or her roommates, and must remove all social media apps from his phone and not access social media from anywhere, according to court documents.
A protective order was also filed Friday against Kingston on behalf of the woman.
