MURRAY — A Murray woman died Tuesday following a multivehicle crash at the intersection of 700 West and Winchester Street.

She was identified Thursday as Ila J. Luke, 74. Her husband was injured in the crash and remained hospitalized Thursday, police said.

The four-car crash happened just before 11 a.m. Tuesday, shutting down all directions of travel while crews worked to clear the scene, said Murray Police Lt. Jake Huggard.

The woman was trapped in one of the cars, and firefighters had to work to get her out, police said.

Murray police spokeswoman Kristin Reardon confirmed "multiple people" were transported to the hospital, and Luke died after arriving at the hospital.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
