WEST JORDAN — A West Jordan rideshare driver is accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teen girl.

Bradley Scott Brokaw, 37, was charged Friday in 3rd District Court with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault and object rape, first-degree felonies; and drug distribution, a second-degree felony.

Brokaw is already facing charges of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, sodomy on a child and forcible sodomy in two other cases filed earlier this month. The victims in that case were not rideshare clients.

According to his latest charges, a 17-year-old girl ordered a rideshare on Sept. 9, 2020, and Brokaw picked her up. The charges do not say which rideshare Brokaw was working for.

"Instead of taking her to her desired destination, Brokaw took her to his house in Salt Lake County and stopped at a local fast-food establishment on the way," the charges state.

Brokaw gave the teen a pill at his house, which she later believed was ecstasy, and she began to feel "woozy" and "weird," the charges state. Brokaw then sexually assaulted the girl while also strangling her, charges say.

"(The teen) reported she felt like she was going to die," according to the charges. "(She) reported that during the strangulation, Brokaw used an estimated pressure of 10 out of 10 and she experienced difficulty breathing."

Prosecutors say Brokaw "is a danger not only to these victims but also the community at large. As an employee of a rideshare service, he has access to unsuspecting women every day," and have requested that he be held in the Salt Lake County Jail without the possibility of posting bail pending trial.
