ROY — A 9-year-old boy was hit by a car while crossing the street in Roy.
The juvenile was crossing 1900 West at the 4400 South intersection at about 5:40 p.m. when a vehicle may have run a red light and hit him, Roy police spokesman Stuart Hackworth said. A scooter the boy had with him got stuck under the car, but it is unclear if the boy was riding it or just pushing it along.
The child was taken to a local hospital and then flown to Primary Children's Hospital. Hackworth did not specify the child's injuries or condition.
Partial road closures were in place while police investigated the scene. No citations were issued, but the investigation will determine if charges need to be filed, Hackworth added.
