OGDEN — A man currently in Weber County Jail, charged with the rape of a 10-year-old girl, is now being accused of sexual offenses against a 14-year-old girl.
A 14-year-old girl came forward after learning Gilberto Moises Rivera, 20, was arrested in February, according to a police booking affidavit filed Wednesday. The girl "disclosed six separate occasions in which they had sex over the previous six months," the affidavit said.
Her cellphone was turned over to police, and investigators found around 10 images and videos of a nude man, with his face not in the frame, according to the booking report — the teen says they all were of Rivera. Journals were also relinquished to police, showing the girl "wrote extensively about the first occasion in which they had sex. It is dated as having occurred on Aug. 7, 2024. At the time, the victim was 14 and Gilberto was 20," the report says.
When Rivera was interviewed, he "indicated he had sex with the victim approximately 10 times. He also admitted to sending her nude images of himself. He admitted to receiving nude images from her and indicated he had asked for those images. He estimated he received approximately five nude images of the victim," according to the affidavit.
The sexual abuse persisted around six months, the booking report says, and Rivera "appears to believe they had a healthy relationship."
The affidavit shows he is being investigated for five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony; 10 counts of dealing in materials harmful to minors, a third-degree felony; and six counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a class A misdemeanor. No charges have been filed.
In February, Rivera was charged with breaking into the house of a girl he had messaged on social media and raping the girl's 10-year-old sister. A preliminary hearing in that case is scheduled for April 7 in 2nd District Court.
