LOGAN — Ridgeline sophomore Krew Jones is one of the most coveted recruits — not only in Utah, but the entire 2027 class.

Jones has been active on the recruiting trail, regardless of it still being early in his process. In fact, he's been able to visit and attend camps at over 10 schools across the country.

"Training with OFFA Academy has given me good exposure with a handful of programs," Jones said.

But this spring, Jones plans to travel even further on the trail, this time into Big Ten country. The sophomore edge rusher will visit Purdue, Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State over the course of three days.

His first visit will be to Purdue on April 25. Purdue recently underwent a coaching staff change, and the Boilermakers brought in former Missouri and UNLV head coach Barry Odom to take over at the helm.

Jones was offered by Odom and his staff at UNLV in February 2024, and much of that staff followed Odom to Purdue.

"With the new staff from UNLV, I'm excited to catch up with coach Odom," Jones said.

On April 26, Jones will make his way to Ohio State, though the Buckeyes' staff has yet to offer Jones. But they have recently begun recruiting him. Jones hopes to connect with members of Ohio State's coaching staff and strengthen those relationships while being on campus.

"I'm pretty new to their coaching staff," Jones said. "(I'm) looking forward to meeting coach (Justin) Frye and coach (Larry) Johnson. I will be watching closely to see how they develop Epi Sitanilei out of St. John Bosco (California). We have very similar play styles."

Two days later, Jones will make the trip up to Ann Arbor to visit Michigan, or as Ohio State calls it, "the team up North."

Just like its rival, Michigan yet to offer Jones and has only recently begun to recruit him, but he hopes to get to know that staff more on his visit, as well.

"I'm excited to talk with coach (Wink) Martindale and coach (Lou) Esposito," Jones said. "They like my film and wanted to get me on campus, show me the Big House."

Later that day, Jones will shoot over to Michigan State, who also hasn't extended an offer yet. Jones was first exposed to Michigan State during a training session, when the Spartans' defensive line coach, Lego Suiaunoa, was in attendance.

Now that he will be on campus, Jones hopes to get to know Suiaunoa better, along with edge rushers coach Chad Wilt.

"I'll be with coach Wilt and coach Suiaunoa," Jones said. "I met coach Sui last year at a training."

Jones has already accumulated over 20 offers well before his junior season. With these four schools all having yet to offer, Jones hopes he can add to the list with these trips ahead.

"I'm really lucky to build on these relationships and to have so many people in my corner," Jones said.
