BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Justin Hastings of the Cayman Islands has won the Latin American Amateur Championship in a 36-hole marathon. The one-shot victory over Patrick Spars of Peru sends Hastings to the Masters, U.S. Open and British Open. He's the second player from the Cayman Islands in the last four years to win the Latin American Amateur. Aaron Jarvis was the other. Hastings is a senior at San Diego State. He shot 64 in the third round to build a four-shot lead. Sparks made a bold rally and was tied with two holes to play. But he three-putted for bogey on the 17th.
