CEDAR CITY — An 88-year-old man who founded a cosmetology school in southern Utah was killed after getting trapped beneath a vehicle Wednesday.

Officers responded to a parking lot near 100 N. 100 West at about 6:40 p.m., for an automobile-pedestrian accident and found a man trapped under a vehicle, Cedar City police said.

He was extricated by emergency responders and given medical aid, but the man died from his injuries, police said.

St. George News identified the man Friday as Dale J. Evans, who founded Evans Hairstyling College, which has locations in Cedar City, St. George and Rexburg, Idaho.
