CLINTON — Police on Saturday identified two men who were found dead following a report of a shooting early Thursday at a Clinton home.
Clinton police and officials from other area law enforcement agencies responded to a report about 1 a.m. Thursday of shots fired at a home in the area of 2600 West and 2250 North.
Officers arrived to find two men with gunshot wounds, one of whom was declared dead inside the home. "The second was flown by medical helicopter and was pronounced deceased after arrival at the hospital," Clinton police said in a statement.
Keith Miller, 40, who was a guest at the home, and resident Jacob Pluim, 35, were the two men who died, Clinton police said Saturday. It is still unclear which man was flown to the hospital, but Pluim was named as the suspected gunman, and Miller as a victim.
Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public, and the matter remains under investigation. Clinton police ask anyone with information to reach out to the department.
Another release of information is anticipated next week, according to a Facebook post from police.
