NEW YORK — Jim Montgomery is overjoyed to be back with the St. Louis Blues as their head coach. Montgomery joined the team in New York in the middle of its brief road trip. He spoke to reporters Monday for the first time since being hired five days after the Boston Bruins fired him. Montgomery replaces Drew Bannister 22 games into the season. The 55-year-old previously spent two years as an assistant in St. Louis on previous coach Craig Berube's staff. The Blues visit the Rangers on Monday night in Montgomery's debut behind the bench.
