SARATOGA SPRINGS — A Saratoga Springs man was charged Monday with sex abuse crimes accusing him of convincing young boys to play "extreme truth or dare" and the "blindfold game."
Robert Paul Walker, 42, who in the past has been a registered sex offender, is charged in 4th District Court with three counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony; plus lewdness involving a child and witness tampering, third-degree felonies.
On Nov. 14, Walker, originally from Virginia but has been living in Saratoga Springs since April, suggested to five boys between the ages of 10 and 12 that they play a game called "extreme truth or dare," according to charging documents. "(He) told the boys the rules were that if you could not do or refused to do a dare then you had to remove a piece of clothing."
One boy told investigators Walker continued to give the boys "impossible dares" until all their clothes were off, according to charging documents.
Walker "told all the boys not to tell their parents about the game or he could go to jail," the charges say.
When one of the boys told his parents what happened, he also revealed that two weeks earlier, some of the boys had played the "blindfold game" with Walker at his house, which involved inappropriate touching, the court documents state.
A police booking affidavit further alleges that Walker "had a history of being a registered sex offender" several years ago and admitted "he had been grooming" the Utah boys.
