HALLOWEENTOWN — You have to be careful while trick-or-treating these days. With the proliferation of animatronic decorations, every porch is liable to have some sort of lunging zombie or screeching witch.

We've all been there. You walk up to the porch with your kids, hoping the homeowners are giving away full-size Snickers or 3 Musketeers. Suddenly, a cackling clown springs toward you and makes you jump out of the way in terror.

You have just fallen victim to another Halloween animatronic from Spirit Halloween.

But I'm willing to guess that when most of us parents feel we're in danger, we don't automatically ditch our kids. But that's what the dad in this video decided to do.

I love how unfazed the kids are in the video. They're standing around calmly as if they're just watching their favorite movie in the family room while this terrified dad storms off down the driveway.

Let this be a warning to all of us next Halloween. There are lots of spooky hazards in our neighborhoods, and while they probably won't scare our kids, we might get scared and react like a toddler. So keep your head on a swivel and make sure that you're able to finish the night strong.
