GRANTSVILLE — A 14-year-old was killed when an ATV he was riding on rolled Friday afternoon, according to Grantsville police.

The accident happened about 1:30 p.m. on a family farm at 6090 N. Burmester Road, Grantsville Police Lt. David Greco said. An adult was driving with the boy as a passenger when the vehicle tipped while taking a sharp turn.

The boy, who has not been identified, died at the scene, Greco said. The adult was not injured.

Greco said a medical helicopter was initially called to the scene but later canceled.

Officials are still investigating what happened, and more information was not immediately available.
