HOLING OUT — Team Utah didn't come away with the winner's trophy at the 2024 National Car Rental PGA Jr. League championship.
But Emery Johnson felt like a winner after his hole-in-one in front of Utah golf star Tony Finau at PGA Frisco Fields Ranch West in Frisco, Texas.
The 12-year-old golfer holed out off the tee from 132 yards into the wind, striking a perfect shot with a 6 iron while Finau and his son Jraice looked on in celebration at the first of two aces on the weekend for Team Utah.

What's better than one ace and a once-in-a-lifetime moment for many golfers? How about two?
Drew Wilson also holed out for Team Utah, slapping palms with a second ace in two days for the Utah squad that plays out of Thanksgiving Point Golf Club in Lehi.
Finau was with Team Utah on an off week from competition on the PGA Tour — he passed on an appearance at the hometown Black Desert Championship in Ivins as part of the FedEx Cup fall series — so he could be with the youngsters, which included his son.

"There's nothing like being on a team; there's no question," Finau told ESPN during the tournament. "I think our message that we had for the kids was just, enjoy it.
"There's only going to be one team that wins, but everyone walks away a winner this year because of the team atmosphere and because of the memories they make ... It's really cool what the PGA of America has done with the PGA Jr. League, and I'm very proud of be a part of it."
Team Utah, the 13U team regional champions of Finau, Johnson, Wilson, Cove Cummings, Luke Manning, Logan Wilde and Crue Harward, finished third overall, holding off Virginia in Sunday's third-place match, 8.5-3.5.
The Thanksgiving Point 17U All-Stars will also head to the PGA Jr. League championships next month, Nov. 14-17 at Twin Warriors Golf Club in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico, according to the Lehi Free Press.
