METAIRIE, La. — New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler is scheduled to take his first regular-season NFL snaps on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Saints coach Dennis Allen discussed Rattler's promotion after confirming that usual starter Derek Carr will miss at least one game because of a left oblique injury. Carr was hurt in New Orleans' loss on Monday night in Kansas City. Second-year pro Jake Haener served as Carr's backup against the Chiefs and entered the game in the fourth quarter. But Allen says after thorough discussion with his staff, he decided it was time to give Rattler a chance to make his debut as New Orleans tries to end a three-game losing streak.
