Avalanches are serious business. There are several things you never want to mess with. A few of those include bears, tax evasion, my wife when she's hungry, bears and avalanches.

While we usually see avalanches as fast-moving waves of white fury, sometimes they are slow-moving and just as scary as this video shows.

This slow-moving avalanche, caught on camera in Russia, was a chilling sight as it made its way toward a parking lot. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the wall of snow caused significant damage to the cars — a stark reminder of the potential danger even slow-moving avalanches can pose.

The power behind the snow is impressive, despite its slow speed, much like when my dad decided nothing as trivial as a 60-foot tree was going to stop him from getting to his destination when he tried to make a slow U-turn in a crowded cemetery. That day, I learned that nothing will stop slow, continuous power when controlled by a stubborn mind.

I know this avalanche didn't have a mind of its own, but truthfully, neither did my dad that day. I knew that for sure when I watched him get out of the truck, punt some flowers across the hallowed ground and slam his fists into a headstone from the grief he felt from the giant gash on the side of his Toyota.

All I'm trying to say is get out of the way of an avalanche or a charcoal grey 2014 Toyota Tundra, regardless of speed.
