TOOELE — Police have identified a 32-year-old woman who was hit and killed by a pickup truck on Tooele's Main Street on Wednesday, according to police.

Tooele Police Sgt. Colbey Bentley said the accident happened about 10:15 p.m. at about 450 S. Main.

Officers were dispatched to the area, where they found the woman — identified Friday as Elizabethann Burns, of Roosevelt — injured after being hit by a pickup truck headed south, according to a social media post by the police department. She died at the scene while first responders were giving her aid, Bentley said.

The truck driver is cooperating with police, and investigators say Burns was not in the crosswalk when she was struck. Following the crash, both lanes of Main Street were closed for around three hours.

The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, which is still ongoing, according to Bentley. The social media post says charges presumably for the driver, are pending the results of the investigation.
