SALT LAKE CITY — The top teams in the state have taken turns beating each other, with Lone Peak the most recent victim of a 21-16 loss to Skyridge.

Several top showdowns remain, and a few undefeated seasons are still on the line, as we enter the final weeks of regular season play.

Here is where the rankings stand for now:

1. Corner Canyon (7-1, 3-0 6A Region 2)

The offense hasn't skipped a beat with backup quarterback Bronson Evans leading the Chargers to back-to-back 49-point outings.

Breakout senior Chryshaun Lee had a hat trick in a 49-14 win over Copper Hills most recently as the Chargers prepare to finish the regular season with two road games at Bingham and Herriman.

2. Skyridge (6-2, 3-0 6A Region 3)

The toughest part of the season has likely passed for the Falcons as they eeked out single-digit wins over top-five teams in Lehi and Lone Peak the last two weeks.

Skyridge will look to enter the postseason with some momentum in the final two games against Pleasant Grove and American Fork.

3. Lone Peak (6-2, 2-1 6A Region 3)

The Knights were on the wrong end of Skyridge's last win for their first in-state loss of the year.

It doesn't get any easier with Lehi arriving in Highland next.

4. Lehi (6-1, 2-1 6A Region 3)

The Pioneers followed up their first loss of the season (20-16 to Skyridge) with a 48-7 bludgeoning of Westlake.

Senior quarterback Jett Niu threw four touchdown passes in the win, but a major road test at Lone Peak looms large this week for Lehi.

5. Timpview (4-2, 3-0 5A Region 7)

The T-Birds have rattled off three 40-point outings in a row for a dominant win streak through Region 7, but major contenders for the region crown remain in Maple Mountain and Orem to finish the regular season.

6. Roy (8-0, 5-0 5A Region 5)

A 14-0 headstart wasn't enough for Viewmont as Robert Young ran in three touchdowns and caught another for a dominant Roy win, 42-28.

The Royals have won all eight games by double digits, but the toughest tests were saved for last with Bountiful and Northridge waiting to spoil the perfect season.

7. Ridgeline (8-0, 4-0 4A Region 11)

Outscoring the last two opponents by a combined score of 124-13? Not bad.

The Riverhawks have dominated Region 5 so far, but rising contender and upcoming opponent Mountain Crest has won three in a row and could play villain next week.

8. Orem (7-1, 3-0 5A Region 7)

The Tigers are a 1-point loss away from a perfect record, but will likely have to wait until the regular season finale against Timpview to try and claim their spot at the top of Region 7.

9. Morgan (8-0, 3-0 3A North)

The Trojans have allowed just 10 total points over their last five games in a dominant defensive display.

A once-dominant Ogden team has dropped two in a row as Morgan welcomes the Tigers next week looking to keep the spotless record intact.

10. Maple Mountain (7-1, 3-1 5A Region 7)

Similar to region companion Orem, the Golden Eagles are just 2 points removed from an 8-0 record, with the close loss coming to none other than the Tigers themselves.

Maple Mountain closes its regular season early with a crucial road test at Timpview this week.

11. Bountiful (7-1, 4-1 5A Region 5)

The Redhawks have been on a tear ever since a double-overtime loss to Viewmont in Week 4.

Bountiful has won four straight, including a 50-21 win over Box Elder most recently, but the undefeated Roy Royals await for the biggest challenge yet.

12. Brighton (7-1, 4-1 5A Region 6)

The Bengals followed up a scoreless outing against Olympus three weeks ago with a pair of convincing wins over Skyline and East.

Last week marked the team's third straight win, but the Brighton offense managed just 19 points in a victory over Alta.

13. Fremont (6-2, 3-0 Region 1)

Six straight wins after an 0-2 start will certainly get you some attention in the rankings.

Junior quarterback Manase Tuatagaloa was involved in all four touchdowns for the Silverwolves in a 28-18 win over Syracuse, with three through the air and one on the ground.

14. Davis (6-2, 2-1 6A Region 1)

The Darts followed up a single-digit loss to Fremont with a 49-6 win over Layton.

Tradon Bessinger threw four touchdown passes, and the Davis defense held the Lancers scoreless until the final minutes of the game.

15. Park City (7-1, 4-1 4A Region 10)

The Miners have won their last two games by a combined score of 100-7 and face a middle-of-the-pack Tooele team next before finishing the regular season with a perfect playoff prep game at Springville.

16. Provo (5-2, 4-0 4A Region 8)

Another hot streak has the Bulldogs winners of five in a row after an 0-2 start to the year.

Provo faces Uintah and Mountain View before entering the 4A playoffs as the major Utah County contender alongside Spanish Fork

17. Spanish Fork (6-2, 3-1 4A Region 8)

The Dons lost a close one to the Bulldogs, 46-42, for their first region loss.

Spanish Fork welcomes Payson and then travels to upstart Timpanogos looking to prove its place near the top of the 4A RPI rankings.

18. Viewmont (5-3, 2-3 5A Region 5)

A 2-3 region record has not helped the Vikings maintain momentum after a double-overtime win over crosstown rival Bountiful, but finishing the regular season against a pair of teams with losing records could help Viewmont end on a high note.

19. Mountain Crest (6-2, 4-1 4A Region 11)

The Mustangs are a field goal away from a 5-0 record in a region they were not expected to compete for.

The battle for the Cache Valley crown will likely come down to this week's home game against the undefeated Ridgeline Riverhawks.

20. Timpanogos (6-2, 3-1 4A Region 8)

Five touchdown passes from Andrew Hillstead in the first half — including a 49-point second quarter — helped the Timberwolves move into a tie for second in Region 8 alongside Spanish Fork, which they face in the regular season finale on Oct. 16.

Plus-1. Richfield (8-0, 3-0 3A South)

The reigning Utah 3A champions have won 21 games in a row and can secure another region title with wins at Canyon View and North Sampete to close out the regular season.

Senior quarterback Griffin Waymam has 12 passing touchdowns and another five on the ground to lead a Wildcat attack averaging nearly 40 points per game.
